Hacked

Hi Peeps

As most of you know, my main chr was one of those hacked yesterday / today. I logged on this morning to find myself at the foot of merc ramp grey and with moral down to good!

In the time imediately following - with the help of Knifey an storm i managed to unload all of my good stuff to various storage chrs - all the time fighting off the hacker's attempts to relog onto MickyC :s (Thanks guys )

Finally, because I kept stopping him staying logged on by re logging on myself he deleted all 3 of my chrs and that was that.

I'm sorry that the guild has lost all of its possessions - hopefully Slither will rewind and resolve it back to how it was before the twats spolit everything

Meanwhile - until it is sorted out, you wont be seeing me around cos I have no chrs to play on - have fun and hopefully I'll be back and playing again eventually.

Meanwhile - I have just bought myself a copy of WoW off of ebay so when that arrives I'll be exploring that to see if it is any good.

Guess I won't be playing again then, although I really want to, as I still really enjoy Soma, and it's a good game. Just some selfish TWATS in this world want to spoil a game like this, with a small community, for all that play it. One asks themsleves "Why?"
But then again, after all this, Slither will be crazy not to do a rewind or something, otherwise Soma is definately gone

Well, without a doubt, this has been the worst weekend ever for us all in Soma's history. It beggared belief seeing Wrathchild, Vesper and so on dropping Angel Tears and so forth all over TYT. Watching the sad acts following them around and snatching up their stuff was enough to put someone off playing for life.

Then when I visited the Soma Forum on Saturday and saw Knifey's thread beseeching Slither and the team to do something as his friend was being hacked at that moment, the blood chilled in my veins. I realised that it had to be an account that had been active since the beginning, so logged on with more than a little trepidation to find out who. Checking the guild store, it became apparent that it was Mick.

It seemed to me that this was the beginning of the end for Soma, and therefore for Athanatus. A great calm descended upon me, and I decided quite quickly that if they failed to sort out Mick properly (sod the guild stash, though we should not have to lose out on that either), then I would cease to play the game.

I remembered back to when, after the demise of Mickyd, we all pulled together and power levelled Mickyc, tanking in the dungy and at Psycho Trolls and so on.

Now, thankfully, it seems that the Soma team are going to do the right thing and rewind the server to (hopefully) before Mick was hacked. Normality looks like being restored

But what I'm rambling on about really is that we cannot let these bastards grind us down. Our strength (and as I recall, Athanatus is Latin for "strength") lies in our friendship. If Soma ever does go tits up, I hope we'll all still come to this forum to keep in touch. Or better still, find another game where we can all still play together (which looks like WOW at the moment ).

barinov, you are 110% right, i do hope we can all keep in touch whatever the outcome of this. I have travelled through soma, battled through soma, experienced every aspect of the world of soma with some of you and it (for me atleast) is what has made the game great. I can quite easily say that if it had not of been for the friendships i have formed with you all then i would of chucked soma in a LONG time ago.

I will be honest with you all now though, i am having my doubts about the future i hold with soma. I do not want to have spent literally Hundreds of hours leveling my character to now play out the next few months in total fear i will log on one day and find my character raided or destroyed. He may not be fleshtuh or Sephron, but he is the evidence of my hard work.

What i am getting at is that i would rather walk away from the game of my own accord then to have some pimply faced 12 year old with some computer knowledge drive me away.

Im not saying i am going as of yet, but the thought is there in my mind. I sit now awaiting the arrival of my copy of WoW. If i still feel worried in the next few weeks then unfortuently i will no longer enjoy soma enough to play.

All i hope is that if Soma does go down the road that i can see it heading at full speed is that you guys will either stick with myself and the few others (mark,micky,lindy) and possibly come join WOW with us, and if not atleast stay in touch over these forums. The hardest part about leaving soma will be saying goodbye to you guys as we have experienced with the loss of belial and cyric in the past.

I am truely saddened having to write this, but i want to be honest with you...... i fear this is the end.
