That exact argument is what caused the PK system to turn into the whimpy thing it is now.
I know when u get pk'd its hell, and now would be 10 times as worse, but it DOES make the game more fun.
See now - if a tough PK'er hits u, all you have to do is move away from mobs, no adrenaline rush, no hand shaking as u hit the right mouse button as fast as ur little muscle can manage.
In the old days (old geezer bit to follow) there would be a shout of "BASIL PKING IN RAPS." In minutes the rap area would be empty except for Basil and the people who were willing to fight him.
Whether u like being attacked or not - its fun (so long as u stand a little chance - High levles Killing n00bs is plain sad) as already mentioned an adrenaline rush kicks in and the game is fun. All anybody does now is stat or mob steal, you dont have to watch you back atall.
As for loosing stats when u get killed, no realism in that now is there? Think u loose .1 int and .1str If that PK'er gets killed, he looses .5int and .5 str
Sorry - had defend the one factor of the game that might make it good again
