i for 1 think it is definatly grieff play. i have had spaldardx or what ever his name is repeatedly steal mobs and taking the killing blow to steal the drop.
tbh i am totally fooked off with it, im trying to lvl and this prat is stopping me doing so.
other offenders have been endoftime and sp3cies(not sure on spellings)
these 2 where hlping spald the first time he stole of me.

I must admit I thought the same as you to start with, but have since changed my views on this matter. I wouldn't do it myself as I am not in the business of pissing people off, but it is unfortunate that Soma's PK system is so screwed otherwise suitable retaliation would be possible. I think Bless is the most well known mobstealer and being a knuckler like myself she was very able at the mob stealing role. The only way to combat a mob stealer is to ignore them make sure u pick up all ur drops str8 away and mob steal from them at ever opportunatey. If possible get 3rd axe skill and stun them at the same time as luring something suitably hurty onto them!

i never had bless steal just try to pk me.
and it funny how games differ, whilst in other games it is considered grief play if 1 person continueally dose something considerd to be harrasing to 1 or more ppl yet in soma it seems ppl can do and say almost ne thing they like and get away with it.
for example:
say some called me a tw@t once and left it this to me is that persons opinion of me.
but if this person said it repratedly i consider this to be commiting "grief play".
so why is this not the same for stealing/luring pking.
in mir ppl have been banned for continually pking ppl, it was clased as excesive pking.

Soma can ban for "griefing" in their eyes this is continuous pk'ing.
But there are also rules against harrasment, if some one calles u a "tw@t" (from your example) time after time. You can collect screenies send them in, and soma 'claim' they will sort it, with either cautions or ban.
As for drop and mob stealing, there isn't a hole lot they can do about it. If you complain someone steals your mobs, the offender can simply say it was his mob first ect. Too much hassel for our beloved GM's to care about it.
Sorry to say it mate, but the best you can do is grin and bare it. As Kiefos said the best trick is to ignore them..... They mob steal for your reaction, if you ignore and just keep killing eventually they'll get bored and move onto some one else. Dont react and start swearing, telling em to fook off, thats exacly what they want you to do.
Without the PK system working properly, pk'ers see this as the next best thing.

Indeed, Skullo, Keifos and Knifer are spot on here. The same tw@ you mention mob and drop stole from me last night also, so I made damn sure to do the same to him. In time, he got bored and went away. They are sad, sad mofo's who get their kicks from winding people up. If you do not seem to react, then you have won m8. Mind you, I did tell him to piss off first...

I agree with the consensus - best thing is to just totally ignore em or ";P" at em! I used to sometimes heal bless in Trolls when she was mob stealing - that used to really confuse her/him . If you get too pee'd off - then move away a bit they will get fed up if you dont react! Buggar-all else you can do really! grin and bear it is all!

Skullo m8, I think you have the right idea of how to approach this...as you know, I've been at the trolls for a while now, and Spardaldk (sp) and a few others - Land_J2 and Zero14 have been mob stealing for most of the time I've been there. There has been a lot of reaction to this, a lot of global comments etc Basically I hold with the majority - ignore him m8 and he will go away, but I found that being proactive also helps as well... Someone shouted the usual "Spardaldk being a prick @ trolls and stealing" or something along those lines... I happened upon him, very shortly afterwards and just said "Are u being naughty again " I got a wink in return and that was it - the difference being, is that now whenever he happens upon me, I just lol or wink or the occasional "Must get a faster axe " - he's hits the mob a couple of times and buggers off - he rarely actually kills the mob. I know how frustrating it is - but to be perfectly honest, there are a multitude of trolls and everyone there can afford to 'lose' one or two (I lose them quite often as I 'move' slightly and the stupid trolls bugger off to someone else ) I'm not saying mob stealing is right, I personally dont do it, but there is no actual rule in RoC against mob stealing and it's something we have to learn to deal with. Oh well, my two pence worth.

2 pence worth mark that wa smore like 10 lol
ne way i have been polite to spard now for a while and have discovered that he dose hit mobs abit but i most of the time get the killing blow.
i am also finding it bloody hairlarous watchin ppl going mental over what he is doing.
i seen him pick on that particular person more and more after there comments. I know it still not right but watching a pack of pissed off somarians chasing 1 bloke is bloody funny.
it like there he goes>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
no there he goes<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
then u get the ? ? ?where the fook he gone ? ? ? it so funny.

Well, you get value for money when I post m8 ;D What I should also have mentioned, is that if Spardaldk is hitting the same mob as me, I stop hitting it and let him do the work and try to get last hit in. If there are more than one mob on me and he's hitting a different mob, again I wait, then try to get last hit on that one. And like you, I usually get the last hit too

Ok just to share in my opiion about it....
After some serious lvling and timing i used to do i noticed that hunting in groups is more effective then alone when you are in a high spawn rate area.
On the other hand it will not be better as for drops...
So its a metter of what you really after.. the drop or the stats... if its stats then it will at the end help you, if its bar you are screwed.
And by the way, it is only consider against the comunity rules and not soma official rules (well at least when i used to play). The mob stealers usually stel from anyone and not just a few people....
Now if you can prove that they mob stel only you and leave others alone... then its an official offense... good luck in proving it thou.
At the end, your attitued as in 'thankyou i need help' is the best cause they will then leave you so maybe you will die while at it... just carefull they could db you to kill you while you mobbed.
If i am not wrong there where news about th pk system? or am i wrong?

You are indeed write Bel, the pk system of old is supposedly cooming back in this near future.
this will mean if killed by a PK'er, you loose stats if u revive, or items if you warp.

Ok heres my one pence worth Bless used to hit my mobs quite regularly when I was at trolls. I used to say things like help yourself and take this one. Then i used to pm him/her telling my coords, till one night i had had enough. I then proceeded to follow him/her all over trolls killing his/her mobs. He/she logged out a few times but i just waited there till he/she logged in. This went on for about 3 hours and he/she logged out about 5 times during this, each time I waited. Eventualy he/she hit me with his/her axe and warped to town. I of course warped after him/her and followed on still. Eventualy Bless logged out and has never hit any of my mobs since

n1 G,
i hope the pk system dont change back coz i for 1 think is bad enough being pk'ed without being punished for it(losing stats)
the pker should lose the stat not the pk'ee.
