In my opinion I think that the amount of crafters we can support is basicly dependant on the number materials being collected in. When I decided to support crafters it was for the soul purpose of generating cash flow for the guild, the proceeds to be spent on rewarding hard working members and buying hard to get ess, etc. It seems to have had more sucess than I thought.
I agree with Bar that commitment must be shown and not too many crafters at a time. Although on the other hand if we start to become overwhelmed with materials then more crafters would help to turn the cash around faster.
With regard to cooking, Jo now has over 40 skill in cooking and is making a tidy profit from the mats she crafts, so as long as only the 10 bar meats are bought then cooking is perfectly viable. I cannot speak for acc or pots as i dont know anyone with high skills.
The apprentice scheme i think will work and acess to the materials can be overcome by master and apprentice crafters crafting together at the same time. That way only 1 member needs stash acess.
Whatever we decide and I will let you guys decide I strongly feel that barr generated from crafting with guild materials should be put into the guild funds.

I been reading this thread with intrest and personally think we are over complicating things.
At the moment we need crafters for the following disciplines Armour, weps, pots, food and accessories.
Who does it is irrelevent, who gets mats from guild stash is though, so here are my thoughts:-
1. People who are starting out need to get their own mats (reason skill goes up fast and smaller quantities of mats are needed, plus you will make barr needed to get you through the game).
2. a goal willbe set for people to gain access to stash and mats from guild i suggested the following (this will prove their commitment to crafting)
Armour provide guild with plate (48 skill) Weps provide guild with 5* sword (48) Food provide prepare to guild potions provide 100mp or hp pots access provide new craftable items When ppl have hit these targets then they can use guild mats
