Hacking :s

Many of you will know Patsylegz - she often hunts with Lindy and me and has attended several of Athanatus' guild hunts to help us - and she has been in Soma since Beta.

Yesterday her account was hacked and all of her possions are now gone - as too is the entire contents of Cheeky Girls GS - and her chr has lost loads of stats too

Patsy has never told anyone her account details - so it would seem logical that she has received a key-logger from some kind person!! Grrrrrrrr!!!

This can happen to any of us and a few sensible precautions can prevent it happening to you:

1 use a good - up-to-date antivirus programme
2 use anti-spyware software too.

A good set of free antispyware can be downloaded from

There are three programmes which should be used together : "Spybot - Search and Destroy" "Spywareguard" and "Spyware Blaster"

I use all three of these and there is a GM - supported thread in the main Soma Forum recommending them too! ( forum.mythofsoma.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46077). Think about it - dont loose all your hard work to some snotty little arsehole!!!

That is really bad news - Patsy always says hello when I see her. Can only re-iterate what Mick says - get some good antivirus software and anti-spyware too.

Me being a complete noob in Internet Security, I was thinking of just leaving this thread active by posting ou what I find abou these programmes.

I am downloading SpyWare Blaster at the moment and it is at version 3.2

Next I am downloading SpyWare Gaurd with is at release version 2.2

Cannot find Spybot though.

If anyone finds any new releases or would like to add tips on how to set-up these applications please do add. It would be very helpful.

I would add some tips but as I already told you I am not much into Internet Security. All I can say is, I do not accept any files from people I do not know, I accept file from people I know who only usually send me files, I do not use MSN, I hate hotmail (I use yahoo) and I do not visit porn sites (Looks at everyone shocked with terror)

Found Spybot at www.majorgeeks.com

It is at release version 1.3. Not sure about it though. I read te review and apart from not letting your computer host programmes, it also removes any cookie settings you might have.

Any info from you guys about this please.

Installed all programmes and tested. Seems to be working very smooth. It is very easy to do. What I would suggest (not sure if it the correct way) is first install SpyWare bot and run all the tests and fix any problems. Then install SpyWare blaster and switch on all security features, then last but not least.... SpyWare Gaurdian.

Seems ok here... It is very easy to do.

It seems most keyloggers and trogens that come from soma is called prorat,a program called pestpatrol will protect you from these programs,It also has a built in keylogger detector.

You have to pay for it but i have the keycode for it sumwere lol,so if ne1 wants it pm me ingame produno.
