Hello dear Athanatusians, Last day I had a chat with some officals about weapon speed. This is the infomation I was given: Weapon speed is determined by 2 factors, Speed and Weight. Speed affects the time delay between one hit and another, so basically it is a timer between the begining of the the 1st animation and the 2nd and so on. Weight affects the time of swing. So basically it affect the timethe animation takes to execute. So to group them up in a step by step situation: - On clicking the mob the animation of hiting starts. animation speed is affected by the weight of the weapon (the lighter the better)
- You hit the mob and keep the button pressed on the mob, this will start the timer affecting the starting of a next hit. This timer is affected by the weapon speed.
- When the 2nd hit annimation starts, again the wieght affects the time taken for the hit to be delivered.
I hope this is helpfull. This applies to all weapons. A tip for 4th aura Axe men... The 4th aura has the same affect as reduces the weight of a weapon to near 0. Speed is also boosted but not to the same effect. Ideally use a high speed axe rather then a light weght axe.

Very interesting and informative post Belly. Makes perfect sense too when you think about it, and nicely explained. Like Khetti, I too had heard the weight issue argued both ways. Seemed to me weight reduction whilst crafting would be pretty crap if all it did was reduce your encumbrance by one ! Get the jades out then lads
